Take My Picture - Garage Magazine

G'morning guys! Hope you are all well!

Found this little gem of a video and decided it couldnt be more relevant and come at a better time than as I'm growing this blog. It explores the phenomenon of fashion bloggers and street style photography and really had me questioning 'how do we stand out?' a question which recently I have been frustratedly pondering over regarding blogger growth. The online world vs real life with regard to individuality is poles apart, the web is saturated with endless sites and virtual 'celebrities', who've built a fan base by networking and being in the right photo, at the right time. The online world makes those engaged in it much more aware of how tiny they really are, when in real life this realisation can often be missed as your circles and networks often have you feeling like a big fish in a little pond, maybe I'm speaking for myself here!?
Back when the benefits of online blogging were unknown to most of us folk, those one step ahead of us were able to stand out and illustrate their own style with a recognisable ease, compared to today. The struggle today is the saturation, blogging is now accessible to all, its immediacy has everyone wanting and able to participate whether they necessarily want to or not. I think in order to be successful in this virtual realm there needs to be a certain level of ignorance, when I search and take hints from other blogs, its the ones which consider themselves a key piece of the puzzle or simply ignore the power of those around them which succeed. I'm in no way suggesting that this is the wrong way to go, evidently its the only way.
As the short film asks, 'Has fashion bred its own version of reality tv stars?'...

I'll leave this discussion up to you! Leave your comments and opinions below! After all - the beauty of blogging is that its so democratic, right?

Dont forget to please follow and share this blog!!

Love xo

My Weekly Favourites

My Weekly Favourites, Saint Laurent, Smythson, Boyfriend Jeans, Tom Ford, Rebecca Minkoff, Gold Rings, One Piece,

Pretty sure a day does not go by that I don't find something I desperately need and want in my life! Dramatic moment over - there are always things I see and love and whether I know I dont necessarily 'NEED' them in my life, I love to collect all my favourite finds together in case that day comes when I think 'Oh yeah I can totally afford a £2000 pair of Saint Laurent leather trousers'. Oh how I do wish that day will be sometime in the near future. Fingers and toes are firmly crossed.

I am obsessed with list making so the Smythson notebook is a must, the tag lines on the covers of these are always adorable and I think my fascination and love for stationary has been heightened purely for the fact I no longer really need it (Sob no more uni, sob).
Midi rings, thumb rings, pinky rings, they are everywhere nowadays but their popularity does not take away from how efficient they are at completing an outfit - and I am not even a huge jewellery fan!
I am still on the hunt for the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans - as mentioned in a previous post (here) I made it clear that jeans aren't my strong point but that being said I did find an amazing pair in Topshop sale, however 2 days before pay day made purchasing the beauties that much more troublesome and had my leaving the store dragging my sad little feet hoping they will be there come pay day!
Tom Ford contour cream, now for those who aren't aware of this please go try immediately, a friend introduced me to it and it is simply magical, does its job perfectly and has the ability to make the most non existent cheek bones so prominent Kate Moss will be out of a job! The price point is fairly high but it lasts forever as you only need a tiny bit so this really is an investment worth making.
The Saint Laurent leathers speak for themselves! To Die For!!! and leopard is becoming ever more prominent in my wardrobe at the moment so it seemed only right to include this leopard clutch from Jerome Dreyfuss. Unfortunately I was on the hunt for the most perfect of Joseph bags which a friend recently bought but for some reason the web has gobbled it up, not on the website, not even eBay. I searched high and low so this replacement clutch was the next best thing!
Mona Mara - the necklace is from a brand which I have recently developed a love for after getting a bracelet from this designer as my graduation gift, but her incredibleness requires her own post which you shall be seeing soon, so I shall leave it at that :)

Hope you enjoyed my weekly favourites, albeit fairly random - no doubt next week will be even more so...

Faversham Bank Holiday Florals

Fashion, Florals, Miss Guided Style, Faversham, Summer, Fashion Blogger,
When it comes to all things festival, or summer related, it seems only suitable to throw on some florals and if you really push the boat out-throw some flowers in your hair. I am not sure what it is that makes everyone hippy-fy themselves whilst the sun is shining but it seems to work so effortlessly.

When it comes to MissGuided, they never disappoint, with some online fashion sites, what you see online really isnt what you get when the parcel comes but for me, with MG, this is rarely the case. This playsuit has a vintage feel and often with florals I think its so hard to find a print which doesnt look tacky, but this summer MissGuided have got them down to a T and picking just one was the hardest job.
Turns out my favourite Millie Mack had the same idea and kept it simple with some nude wedges and a gold chunky necklace.

Unfortunately me being me, I failed to bring both pairs of the shoes I wanted to wear, which personally would have made the outfit that much more amazing!! Hey ho!! I guess it means I will just HAVE to wear it again!! (Outfit repeating? Surely not!!!!) However with something as beaut as this playsuit I cant help but think it acceptable!!

Returning to my roots for Faversham was a delightful day out and nice to see some familiar faces which I hadn't seen in a while, but I think its safe to say that a holiday in my new home away from home was well overdue after the bank holiday antics we had!

Any one still got festivals left to look forward to? Feel free to bring me along :) After my recuperation of course.

Riot Rage Gone

I must have been channelling my inner rock chick when I chose this get up, although this outfit looks gig/concert inspired it was in fact for last Saturday night which resulted in a trip to Panacea and also Circle which to be completely honest is not suited to this leather clad, tassel bag infused look but I went with it anyways.

MaryKate and Ashley for BikBok

IMG_6649 (1)

Recently I have been reliving two things - Mary Kate and Ashley circa 1998 and a love affair with leather which I have never officially broken up with, in particular jackets. So what better way to combine these two loves than MK & A's collaboration with Norwegian brand BikBok.  Before this colab I never looked at the brands collection but they have some really cool slogan tees (see previous post regarding my recent obsession with these) and a lot of basics which you can never have enough of. The girls collection however is very different to the rest of the website and it makes their desirable style that little bit more affordable.

This leather jacket is to die for and along side the million other ones I have had my eye on recently this definitely has the potential to trump them all (post re leathers to come!!)...

Festival Fever

With festival season in full swing it seemed only right to upload these photos from Parklife (although slightly late, but better late than never right?). To me its not a festival without Levi denim cut offs and I got this amazing pair in Cow for £18. After a little customisation from myself they were festival ready and I paired them with this vintage tee, also from Cow. I love love love a vintage root around however finding the perfect vintage slogan tee seems hard so when I found this beauty I couldn't leave it behind.

Reliving these photos have got me so excited for V fest and Faversham coming up this month, but unsurprisingly I am baffled as to what I am going to wear. Living true to myself I have of course began to outfit prep and I will be sure to upload photos once I have eventually decided (most likely after a few vintage root throughs and admiring all that is All Saints in work. (Hard not to when Sandro is positioned directly opposite, sob).

Its not summer without festival frolicking, where are you guys going this season?
